Claire Warner – Biography
Claire’s mother introduced her to the joy of painting before she even went to school, and it became a passion from that time.
She is now an experienced tutor and has been teaching all adult age groups and abilities for over 20 years. As well as organising her own workshops, she tutors for art groups and organisations throughout the UK and abroad on a regular basis.
There is no pre-requisite levels to attend Claire Warner’s workshops at Las Orquideas. Starters, experienced artists and indeed all artists can benefit from the techniques and explanations given, as well as, demonstrated throughout each session. With assistance and individual attention being given regularly throughout the holiday.
Claire believes that everyone is born with a creative ability, which when developed and used, can bring therapeutic and beneficial results. Her aim is to teach and encourage each student to gradually build knowledge and confidence to create their own style and momentum from any starting point.
She experiences great joy from helping others develop a passion to reproduce a beautiful visual memory in this way and, however experienced (or not) the students are, she likes to tease out their full potential with patience and a sense of fun.
The quality and detail afforded at Las Orquideas with Loli and Harold is impressive. The varying and unpredictable effects of clear bright sunlight on the D’Alvaro house and gardens producing vibrant colours, exciting shadows and reflected light, is inspirational. The excursions to pretty surrounding areas, in this part of Valencia, will provide even more variations of this ‘theme of light’.
